Pursued: Christian Contemporary Romance with Suspense (The Dangerous Series) (Volume 6) Reviews
I loved this book! This is the sixth book in the series and I think it's the best. The story and characters were well developed and easy to follow. It had just enough twists to keep your interest but didn't bog it down.
This romantic suspense was an enjoyable read. The hero and heroine had some issues from ten years before and the hero wanted to make amends. The heroine not so much. They were also being pursued by an unknown villain. The message was about the over use of doctors prescribing opiates, and the dangers of addiction. Also, the inspirational message was of forgiveness.
Enjoyed the book, the only problem is I cannot find the 4th book in the series.
Very exciting, never a full moment. Multiple stories entwined together.
Pursued is my first book by Linda Rodante but it won’t be my last! And while it’s the 6th book in her Dangerous series, it can be easily read as a stand alone. Characters from book #4 – Looking for Justice – play a role in Cristina and Chase’s story but, other than feeling like Luke and Alexis had a story of their own somewhere, you don’t ever feel lost or like you’ve missed something important.
Pursued is a well-written, rocket-fast paced suspense novel that drew me in from the very first sentence. I’m not a big fan of prologues, but the one in this book does a great job of setting up the plot without making it feel like a backstory dump. I loved the main characters, Christina and Chase. Their struggles and strengths are real, and I could easily relate to them. Christina’s friend and partner Jianna is a pistol, and I’d love to read more about her. She definitely deserves her own book – I haven’t read the other books in the series, so maybe she has one. For the most part clues were laid out about the villain’s identity, and I had fun trying to figure out who it was. Even after the character was revealed, I remained suspicious of someone else and kept waiting to find out he was a bad guy too! (Didn’t happen.) The book does a good job of exploring the current issue of prescription drug addiction and medical professionals who over prescribe pharmaceuticals. Messages of forgiveness, second chances, and a genuine relationship with God are woven throughout the story without being preachy.
Pursued, written by Linda Rodante, is book 6 in the Dangerous Series.
