Frida Kahlo (Little People, Big Dreams) Reviews
I bought this book for a little Hispanic girl. When I was done reading it to her, she said, “I loved this book, but it was too short - I want to hear more”! This a good series showing kids how ordinary people like themselves will be able to do good things.
The board book is a short version of the regular book. I LOVE the regular book. I grew up on Frida Kahlo and I thought they did a fantastic work in capturing her story, both in terms of the text and the illustration. I also bought the Marie Curie board book for my son. Unfortionaly, the short version (not sure why they cut it that way, I have longer board books) is not good. There's no context, it jumps from one thing to the other, I feel really weird reading it to my son, like there's not really a story, just some quick titles. My son does like the illustrations though, I wish it just had all the pages.
This book series is perfect for little girls! It teaches while providing a storyline that's easy to follow.
This is a fantastic book and series for little girls. My daughter who is five loves these books, especially Frida. As a little budding artist she is encouraged by the story of a young girl that had to work hard and overcome obstacles to live her dream. I will be purchasing all of the books in this series.
Absolutely what I expected. An incredible way to introduce strong female leaders to your young ones.
As a Mexican mother with children born and raised in US, this book illustrates beautifully a part of our culture, and even thought Frida’s life was quite though, this kid friendly story makes children fall in live with her.
My daughter is OBSESSED with Frida Kahlo and loves this book! My daughter is 7 years old and it’s seriously awesome.
First of all, my 4 year old loves Frida so any kids book about Frida is a winner in my house. But the illustrations are so lovely and the text is easy to read and straightforward. We will be buying other books in the Little People, Big Dreams series now.
