Piano Sonatinas - Book One: Developing Artist Original Keyboard Classics (The Developing Artist) Reviews
Didn't realize that it was not just a Sonatina book. It has all these little warm-ups to do in between the Sonatinas and I would have just preferred a book with JUST Sonatinas. The book is also labeled as Book One, Early Intermediate and I would consider this more advanced intermediate for the hand placement. This book is too difficult for a beginner/early intermediate except for maybe the first few pages.
Love the way the pieces in this book and the pieces in Book Two work on improving skills with pieces that are delightful to play. The book arrived on time and in excellent condition.
Great set of books!
Very please with the Faber teaching materials. This book provides a first look at the structure of sonatas by simplifying the various sections of these musical pieces. I will but all of the follow on books as well. They are wonderful ways to expand your insight to more complex works.
These are very easy pieces to play if you are at the 3B level in Piano Adventures but they are more fun and lovely to play than the music in just the lesson book. They are a nice supplement to showcase what you have learned in the lesson book.
I am sight reading at a level 2 and find these pieces to be quite challenging enough not to be bored. Each one teaches something a little different so it keeps you interested. My instructor challenges me with sight reading a new one every week or two and then makes me practice it to get the technique down. I have just bought the second book and look forward to pushing on to more advanced sigh reading practice.
