A Bride's Flight from Virginia City, Montana (Brides & Weddings) Reviews
Murray Pura is an outstanding author and has done a compelling job writing this novel, "A Bride's Flight from Virginia City, Montana." I was spellbound from the beginning and did not want to put it down. This is an amazing historical, tho, fictional account of a gentle love story with Amish roots set in the beautiful state of Montana and Amish settlement in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. I appreciated the use of Scripture and deep commitment that the main characters had in the face of unparalleled danger. I was moved by the evolving love story that evolved between Charlotte and Zeph as they worked together to return 2 newly orphaned children to the children's Amish relatives by train and stage coaches across country while being pursued by heartless criminals. I loved the way it ended in God's answering prayer for them all in a most surprising way. This book was intense and took surprising turns every few chapters. A very satisfying read to the very end!
This book was hard for me to get into at first but got better as it went along. This was a good message of God's grace. This book had so many eternal messages I recommend it to anyone. I appreciate that it didn't have any sexual content, thank you.
More character development and better plot than I was expecting. Very enjoyable. I like epic style novels and this story would have made a good one. Wish it had been longer-I finished it much to quickly.
I did end up liking this but wasn't "wowed" by it. I admit that the first half of the book held my attention a lot more than the last half. I enjoyed the train travel & the tension in that part of the book and was a little disappointed when the tension seemed to fall a little flat after the "showdown" on the train.
