I am in love with this book. My son is in love with this book. It's oversized, a bit eclectic and jam-packed with images and accompanying words, featuring both ordinary and unusual objects with great attention to detail.

My little guy is as that age where he likes to look at everything and say the word or be quizzed on what each item is. He loves this book and the illustrations. We can spend 20-30 minutes going over the ‘transportation/truck’ pages alone.

I purchased this book and the biology book as a gift for my neices & nephews. I was so excited to look through them! I'm glad I did so before wrapping them! There is a page with human anantomy in the Almost Everything book. There is a full frontal illustration of a man & woman. I myself, think the illustrations are tasteful and child apporariate. However, I will not be giving my inlaws this book for their children. I feel like it is their decision when and how their kids learn about human anatomy. :) My husband and I like the books so much though, we're just going to keep it for our own future children. Just a word of warning! Otherwise I am very pleased with these beautiful books.

At first, I bought this because I liked the large format, and it looked good in the room, thinking he would look at it when he's older (it's not your typical kids book - the objects are more realistic, varied, and less cartoony). He was learning about something in school (igloos maybe?) and we pulled the book down. Now we read it every night, always pointing out something new and talking about it, then he points it out the next day. Great book to move beyond "Flower" to "Iris, Rose, Lily" etc. He can't get enough - highly recommended to kids at any age. PS - we like to identify an object in the book (like an ocarina), then watch a YouTube video of someone playing it as a special treat from time to time.

I bought this book because my son LOVES costumes and this includes four pages of historical costumes. I was quite surprised at what a cool book this is. I found it originally on a baby/kid boutique website, but knew Amazon would have it at a better price! I was right! It is 30+ pages of beautifully illustrated pictures of well, "almost everything" The one thing I was surprised they didn't mention in reviews is that the two pages of human body parts includes a full color illustration of a man and woman including not "almost everything" but everything. But, it is human anatomy, so I don't have a problem with it. I will definately be getting the zoo-ology book by Jolivet and will probably give it as a gift to somebody in the future. It's really cool! IT'S A HUGE BOOK TOO! Almost 20 inches tall and 1 foot wide.

Not as great at Zoo-ology. If you own Zoo-ology and your kids love it, this is a good addtion. If you don't, buy that book instead.

A very nice, very large(huge!) book, filled with illustrations.

1st off, most parents will want to know that, yes, there is nudity (on The Human Body pages) & partial nudity (on the Costumes of the World pages) So if you have a problem with those, don't buy this book. However, if you love gorgeous woodcuts, beautiful colors, good art, and pictures crammed with details and variety, this is a book for you. Anyone who liked Richard Scarry as a young child will love this, as well - loads of pictures & all labeled! & in the back of the book is even more information on everything pictured. I bought this to go with our copies of Zoo-ology & 365 Penguins.
