John of God: The Brazilian Healer Who's Touched the Lives of Millions Reviews
There is a great deal of useful and provocative and challenging information in this book. It was not written by seasoned writers but by followers and devotees of John of God, the Brazilian Spiritist healer. I think the writers make a very strong, heart-felt case for the healing work. [The intro by Amit Goswami could be dispensed with.] John of God comes over as an honest, caring, compassionate, tireless worker and healer. There are numerous first-person accounts of healings. Few are healed instantly, healing at the Casa in Brazil is a process which usually includes healing currents and spiritual [energetic] surgery and often takes months or years. The writers do a creditable job and are worthy of praise. The book is well worth reading. Those skeptical of anything but regular modern medicine may have problems, but ...
Excellent Casa guide book indeed. Heather writes with her spiritual lucidity & her deep love & devotion for service. I have read four Casa related books, this one somehow touches me deeply that I have to put down the book & meditate on her words of wisdom intermittently, to fully digest the meaning of true healing beyond the body.
After watching the “Healing: Miracles, Mysteries and John of God” DVD I purchased this book. The authors describe who John of God is, his background, and the fact the entities incorporate into his physical body when they are doing the healing. Most of these entities were doctors when they were “alive” here on Earth. There are also a lot of testimonies from people who were recipients of physical healing.
I recommend John of God, the Brazilian Healer Who's Touched the lives of Millions because gives a true and emotional account of who, what, why and how the energy of healing, spirituality and connection to God. I read the book before my first spiritually guided trip to the Casa and John of God in 2011. I am reading the book again before my 6th trip to be in the immensely healing and spiritual immersion into the love, light and healing of the Casa and John of God. Much has changed at the Casa since this beautiful and factual book was written. the Casa has grown to accommodate a growing number of Pilgrims from Brazil and around the world. In its growth John of god and the Casa has not changed it primary focus on love and healing.
I read the book almost in one sitting. It got too late and I had to read the final pages the next day. I have been to Abadiânia since and met Heather, although at first I did not realize who she was. She seemed kind, wise, calm and loving.
I returned from my first visit to John ofGod and the Casa a month ago. I loved being there and I would love to go back soon. The whole experience was so subtle and mysterious for me. In reading this book I re-experienced my time in Abadianio, and was able to digest and integrate all that I saw and felt and opened to there. The book has much practical information as well as the backgrounds of John of God and the Entities, many healing stories, and my favorite part, two very profound prayers translated from Aramaic directly into English.
