Rachel’s Blessing (Love in South Africa) Reviews
This book has likeable characters, and I enjoyed the South African setting. Well written, with adequate editing, although it was irritating to repeatedly read the italicized African words "boet" and "bru" - nobody would end almost every sentence with that. I couldn't feel much sympathy for the main characters, two supposed Christians in their 30's whose moral lapse creates a predicament for themselves which would be more believable if they were teenagers. Nice, predictable happy ending, with a few unexpected obstacles thrown in to keep it interesting.
I enjoyed this book. This book has lots of romance, but then our couple is tested and goes through some challenging events. I loved how the supporting characters showed love and understanding and no judgement to the main couple. I also enjoyed the setting. The author skillfully paints a picture of South Africa making it seem like a fascinating place. This was a delightful read. Looking forward to reading more from this author.
Story about a young girl from Wales and a young man from Africa. They story tells how they met, obstacles that they had to overcome and how the Lord Jesus directed them according to His plan for them.
I originally downloads this book because it was free, but it was the first book I've read in awhile that kept me on edge I promptly bought all the other books in the series. This book deals with real life issues, such as unwed pregnancy, but it also deals with grace and forgiveness. Love, love, love the book!
I really enjoyed this book. I thought it was well written with very likeable characters and wonderful descriptions of the setting in South Africa. It took a little bit for me to get used to the South African language and the expressions used in the story but overall it added to the enjoyment & reality of the story. I look forward to reading more from this author.
This book was exceptional for a first novel....sure made me want to continue reading the series....just wish it came out in print faster :)
A delightful read. I especially enjoyed all the South African slang. Looking forward to reading the other books in this series.
Brilliant book, couldn't put it down. Will definitely be buying the rest in the series.
