Environmental Oceanography: Topics and Analysis Reviews
The book is a visual disappointment. I have seen some of these photos in other locations, and they are beautiful. This book shrinks and presents all photos, chart and graphs in gray. Good pictures add quite a bit to a text, and the lack of good pictures subtract substantially from this text. On the other hand the seller has great service, and having the text in low quality black and white may keep the cost down. The information presented in this text is easy to read well written accurate and up to date.
I was very excited to get this book at first to compare it with Tom Beer's "Environmental Oceanography". Perhaps due to the focus on 'Topics and Analysis', the book has plenty of links and resources that border on environmental activism. In fact, I think of it more as an introductory text to marine sciences and human interactions with the ocean and not much a technical book on environmental issues in the coastal and open ocean. Beer's book on the other hand is more technical and contains some theory without being overly complicated for a first course.
Book arrived on time and as described. I've had good experiences buying from Goodwill so far. Very glad to get the book I needed for a fair price. Thank you!
Great and informative book. Easy to read and understand. Helped me a lot. The book was clear and concise. Thanks.
needed it for a class at grad school. got it for less than 1/5th of the cost at the university book store from here. Epic dude epic
