The Elephant's Tale (Legend of the Animal Healer) Reviews
Like one of the other books in this series, this particular book was purchased for a student in my classroom that has an affinity for animal and nature. He had read the first books in the series and requested these as well. They are engaging books that are perfect for any reader that loves animals and the great outdoors. I will collecting the entire series soon to keep in my classroom library.
Maxine and Ben are off on another adventure and St John does not disappoint. All 4 books in the series are fantastic. I just finished The Elephant's Tale - one of the best stories in the series, with the first, The White Giraffe, being my favorite. St John makes Maxine & Jemmy so special and carries that throughout. These adventure tales are action packed with wild animals in exotic places and two 11 year olds to save the day. All the things childhood imaginations thrive on. All four books are written wonderfully by St John about the place she grew up giving the stories an authenticity anothor author wouldn't be able to wrap the reader in the way she does.
Lauren St. John is a gifted writer. This is the third book in her series that I am reading to my third grade class this year. They all love Martine and her adventures in South Africa.
It is a good book if you love animals .But it is my best book ever. I love it how Lauren st John writes about different countries in Africa. I would like if she could write another where they go to Zambia.
The fourth in a series for my son, couldn't find at library, happy to get for kindle so he could finish series.
Every girl from 9-15 should read this series.
Tween book series that captures the imagination and the heart and teaches a few less ions along the way
I am a teacher. I read the White Giraffe and I enjoyed it so much that I read all the rest. I mentioned this to my 6th grade granddaughter. She read The White Giraffe so I had to buy the rest for her. She read all 4 in one week she enjoyed them so much. The books are not only entertaining but teach about cultural differences and geography.
